let us continue on the grand tour of my new location — before the makeover! Again, stay tuned for the “after” pictures in H&H’s June 2011 issue. If you missed the primary floor, click here, as well as for our kitchen, click here. Remembering these days right after we bought truly reminds me of exactly how much work we’ve done to spiff it up.
Let’s begin with the front bedroom. It came with great deals of vinyl wallpaper as well as some apple eco-friendly silk drapes. I believed I may be able to work with those drapes, to tell you the truth. notice all of the nice mouldings, old doors as well as hardware? They’re my favourite!
Here’s a shot of the landing at the top of the stairs. It’s unusually big as well as square for a home this old, however it’s a truly nice function as well as provides a bit of breathing space between the bedrooms as well as bathroom. as well as you’ve got to like the old drapes on that bit window!
This is the guest bedroom — it’s about the exact same size as the primary bedroom except for the closets. This blue is one of my favourite colours, however of program I repainted! You’ll have to wait as well as see what I selected instead…
More excellent old doors as well as doorknobs. as well as the floors are in truly great shape up here, too.
And here’s the old bathroom in all its glory. Wallpaper, drapes, drapes over the tub, linoleum flooring — you name it! This was the very first space we dealt with as well as yes, there was a crowbar involved.
The home came with a excellent original pedestal sink as well as a lovely white tub, however can you believe those awful faucets?!?! as well as that medicine cabinet? What were they thinking? You can see the ‘cultured marble’ tub surround in this shot. That’s where I employed the crowbar. It came down with a crash!
Finally, the primary bedroom. It’s a decent size as well as has a nice huge window looking out over the yard. The wardrobe circumstance is type of unusual — it’s like a bit space unto itself with a his as well as hers wardrobe each! Plus, there’s a door out onto the roof (for sunbathing, I guess?).
Even though I had been pulling wallpaper down in the bathroom as well as kitchen, I was dreaming of putting wallpaper up in this bedroom. I can’t wait to show you the results!
